What types of work are accepted?

Any written work, be it general or relationship-focused, which is centred solely around characters in the 2ha novel, is accepted.Crossovers are not allowed. There are no restrictions with regards to content, all we ask is that you tag accurately and responsibly. Go wild! We're here to help facilitate the writing of that one fic you've always thought about writing! We hope the structure and community of this event will encourage you :)

This Event is 18+.

Dumb Husky & His White Cat Shizun (二哈和他的白猫师尊) is an adult novel with mature themes and a variety of triggering content. As such, the 2HA Midi Bang will only allow participants who are over the age of 18.

Writer Requirements and Guidelines

Writers must be over the age of 18, willing to meet the minimum word count, and willing to collaborate with their future artist on this project.Fics must be your own work and previously unposted. To keep claims as unbiased as possible, we ask that from the time of your sign-up that you refrain from discussing your Bang WIP. We know people share their ideas in the early stages of writing, so we don't want to penalize for having shared WIPs previously. The purpose of the Bang is to facilitate you in a longer project, and it's ok if you had an idea for it beforehand. We ask that any WIP be shorter than 5,000 words at the time of sign up for it to be considered a Bang project. If signing up, make sure to keep an eye on your email so we can reach out to you (when emails are sent out will be announced publicly).Betas are not required but strongly encouraged. There will be beta signups, and a beta can be assigned from there. Authors may also find their own betas if they'd like.

Artist Requirements and Guidelines

Artists must be over the age of 18, willing to create at least two full pieces of art within the allotted time, and willing to collaborate with their writer on this project.Art can be digital, traditional, colored or black and white. If traditional, make sure your pieces can be scanned in or reasonably photographed for viewing quality.Similarly, please make sure to keep an eye on your email after sign-ups so we can reach out to you.

Beta Requirements and Guidelines

Please take care to list your squicks/NOTPs in detail as that will help us assign you a more suitable fic.You will be allotted fics to beta-read once artist/author assignments have been made, which will be in June-July 2021.To make sure our readers and writers are aligned on level of effort, we've classified our General readers into the following categories, based on increasing level of effort required:

1. Grammar and spelling editing
2. Flow and word choice comments
3. Characterization and plot comments

To make sure our readers and writers are aligned on level of effort, we've classified our Pickers into the following categories, based on increasing level of effort required:

1. Simple fact checking
2. Detailed fact checking
3. Character behavior in cultural context

Once you have been allotted your fic, it is up to you and the author to mutually decide on frequency of contact, level of workload, etc. We expect all authors and readers to interact in a civil manner. Please keep in mind the level at which the author requested feedback. If you wish to broach any additional details, we recommend you keep in mind that they were not sought out, and use your judgement. If at any point you feel that the fic contents or author make you uncomfortable and you no longer wish to beta read for it, please contact a mod.

Deadlines

All dates as outlined on the schedule must be met for continued participation in the event. For writers, that means sending in a copy of their current draft that meets the word count required for the check-in. Artists will be asked to show progress on the pieces they are creating.
